The Springfield Police Department provides law
enforcement services to
a population of approximately 9,400 residents,
covering 49 square miles
and has been described as one of the busiest departments in Windsor County.
The Police force currently consists of:
3 Patrol Sergeants
1-Detective Sergeant
2 Corporals
2 Detectives
9 Patrol Officers and
a Parking Enforcement Officer.
Each year law enforcement officers respond to
approximately 8,500 calls for service;
perform 4,000 motor vehicle stops;
participate in grant-funded DUI and
Seatbelt enforcement activities and other
various motor vehicle enforcement details,
including Click It or Ticket.
The Emergency Communications Center
of the Springfield PD consists of:
5 Full-Time Dispatchers and
3 part-time Dispatchers.
Dispatch answers roughly 80,000 phone calls a year.
Coverage area includes Springfield Police, Fire and EMS.
