The Springfield Police Department provides law enforcement services to a
population of approximately 9,100 residents, covering 49 square miles and has
been described as one of the busiest departments in Windsor County.

The Force consists of 3 Sergeants; 3 Corporals; 1 Criminal Detective;
1 Juvenile Detective; 6 Patrol Officers and
a Parking Enforcement Officer.

Each year law enforcement officers respond to approximately
5,400 calls for service; participate in grant-funded DUI enforcement activities
and perform various motor vehicle enforcement details, including
"Click It or Ticket".

The Emergency Communications Center of the Springfield PD, which consists of
4 Full-Time Dispatchers; 1 Twenty-Hour Permanent Part-Time Dispatcher;
and 2 part-time Dispatchers, answer approximately
42,000 phone calls a year.
Coverage area includes Springfield Police, Fire & EMS;
and Chester Fire & EMS.
